I don’t know what it is about this time of year, but after a matter of time has passed, I am READY TO GO AGAIN! I absolutely cannot wait to spend 6 days and 5 nights in the Dominican Republic for Trina and Tim’s Destination wedding ceremony! It’s going to be such fun being there with my entire family. And just look at the picture of the resort where we’re staying!! My photography camera is already buzzing with glee about the shots it’s going to take!
Exactly one year ago today, we were leaving for our family vacation in the Bahamas. What a glorious trip that was! The sun…the laughter…the food! I still haven’t started scrapbooking that trip or at least even printing the physical pictures. What’s up with that? But at least I did put together the online album. Have you checked it out lately?

I had a wonderful time this weekend with Vanessa and my niece and nephew at the ROCK 2009 conference in Ocean City, MD. ROCK is a Christian youth retreat that the Baltimore-Washington Conference of the United Methodist Church sponsors every year for middle and high school age kids. During the retreat, there are workshops and there is usually a main guest speaker as well as Christian bands who perform and give concerts every night. This year, we had an awesome speaker, Rev. Reggie Dabbs and heard the groups Stellar Kart and Youthful Praise perform. They were all really good! It was truly an AWESOME experience!! We had such a great time last year that Vanessa wanted Kyle and Kendra to come as well!
So John Wesley UM Church had 3 kids representing! WHOOP-WHOOP!! (hahaha) Next year, I’m praying that we’ll have twice as many kids AND we’ll need to have another chaperone and hotel room to house the kids! And beyond that, I’m praying for one of those fancy church vans like some of the other churches had for us as well. Can Pastors have VAN ENVY?? (hehehe) It did my heart good to witness Kendra accept Christ that weekend and to hear Kyle a.k.a. The BMOC (big man on campus) say he wanted to bring his friends next year!! THAT TOTALLY ROCKS!!

I’m back from my cruise/trip tracing the 4th missionary journey of the apostle Paul. Actually, one probably shouldn’t call it truly a “missionary” journey given that he was technically a prisoner journeying to Rome for trial at the time! It was the trip of a lifetime third only to my trip to South Africa and Ethiopia. I have got to go back to Italy again to do it properly. There just wasn’t enough time to take in all the sights, especially in Rome. I would need to spend about a week in Rome in order to do it right.
There is so much that I have to tell and write about in terms of what I saw and experienced, that I could easily fill up 2 pages of this blog! So I think I won’t bore y’all with one LOOOOONG post and break it up into smaller chunks.

Did I mention that the countdown is ON as far as I’m concerned for our family vacation? Did I also mention that I am ready to go? I mean RET-TA-GO??? I have been so stressed out with some unecessary DRAMA at one of my churches that I am literally FEENING for the plane and beach to be able to relax!
Lamar and I had such a wonderful time when we were there a 4 years ago! And I’m looking forward to having the kids, my sister, and my nephews and nieces there this time too. We’re staying at the all-inclusive Paradise Island Resort. And I can’t wait to get over to the Archives building in Nassau and connecting the rest of the dots on the Symonette family tree.
I’m telling you guys now, real estate agents better beware and stay far from me with their deals when I get there! And Lamar better hide the classifieds and real estate magazines from my sight! If it gets TOO good, I just might live out my dream and not come back to the States! I’ll be a BAHAMA MAMA FOR REAL!! 
Don’t worry though! I’ll keep a guest bedroom just for you! (hahaha)
